David Kim, M.D. M.S. is a board-certified fellowship-trained cosmetic dermatologist in New York City and founder of LIGHTSAVER. Dr. Kim received his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from Stanford University and completed dermatology residency at the University of Southern California, where he served as a chief resident. He completed the ASDS Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship at Union Derm in NYC.
Dr. Kim is an expert in cosmetic dermatology and is known for his minimalistic subtle approach. He specializes in injectables (neurotoxin, fillers, and others), lasers, energy-based devices, and body contouring. Dr. Kim’s goal is to enhance and restore his patients' appearance without changing the way they look. Over the course of his career, he worked for numerous luxury brands including CELINE, Jacquemus, Alexander McQueen, Rick Owens, Haider Ackermann, JW Anderson and others in Paris. Through these experiences, he has developed a keen eye for proportions and perfected techniques of his own to help patients enhance their best features.
Prior to his medical training, Dr. Kim had extensive experience in public health. He worked at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and received a Master’s degree from Columbia University to focus on issues related to HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, and Child Malnutrition. Dr. Kim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Duke University, during which he was a Howard Hughes Research Fellow both at Duke University and Harvard Stem Cell Institute.
Dr. Kim has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, British Journal of Dermatology, and Pediatric Dermatology. He has also presented at numerous conferences, including the ASDS Annual Meeting and International Master Course on Aging Science (IMCAS).
